About Coach Walker
T. J. Walker Sr. was born December 20, 1954 in Chicago, Ill, to William Walker and Collena Walker. He is the ninth child of 10, so he knows what it means to be a part of a team. He then spent the first fiftenn years of his childhood in Chicago's south-side, where coach Walker was faced by many gangs on a daily bases.Through all the hard times coach still started to become one of Chicago's premire power forwards. Noticing there son's talents his parents felt it would be best to move the family to Long Beach, Ca, to better promote their son's talents. There Coach Walker attented Long Beach Jordan High, where he became the third leading scorer and second leading rebounder, on a team that produced three all Americans and three honorable mentions. After high school Coach married his high school sweet heart Jackie Walker and then furthered his career by attending college. Coach attended Compton JC where he played for NBA legend Walt Hazard for one year. Then attended Victorville JC for one more year, and finally finished his college career at Cal State East Bay. Coach Walker has coached youth and adult basketball for more than 30 years. He is currently the Head JV Boys Coach at Ceres High School.
Family Life:
Coach Walker has been happily married to his co founder Jackie Walker for 37 years. they have two children who are both accomplished basketball players. Their son T. J. Walker Jr. a Hall a Famer at Azusa Pacific University, was a two time all American, and lead APU to two NAIA Div 1 final fours. He then futhered his career and spent 10 years playing basketball overseas, he now is the first assiant at MJC. There Daughter Ashley Walker attended the University of California Berkeley were she became the second all-time leader in scorering, and the all-time leader in rebounding in school history. She was then the first player in Cal's history to be drafted into the WNBA (12 overall pick to Seattle Storm). She is now playing professionally overseas.
